A dance for one by Lover

Continuing with the dance theme...
I visited
Lover's website today and was pleasantly surprised to be greeted by a beautiful short video titled A dance for one. The film in collaboration with The Australian Ballet was directed by Alice Westley-Smith & Kasia Werstak and produced by the AEON and Lover.
Lover's A dance for one collection is so soft and ethereal that it makes me want to twirl around the house in pointe shoes.

Hmm... I just had a funny vision of me in my ice hockey gear twirling around the house in pointes. Not quite the same is it ;)

La Danse

Anja and Megan, the clever girls behind clever nettle, have created this sweet ballet-inspired photoshoot. Find the rest of the pics on their lovely blog and great vintage finds in their etsy shop.

Colourful Tuesday: Little florals

Lately I've been drawn to little floral patterns on a dark base. This one is from the April issue of Fudge magazine.
Via what's your tale, nightingale?

(Best ever) Flickr discovery: Vintage fashion

I have stumbled upon a goldmine of vintage fashion photos and can barely contain my excitement! There are 768 pages of amazingly beautiful fashion and film shots going back to the 1920's. It's an incredible library of style and I am looking forward to hours and hours of enjoying all that inspiration. Find it on Dovima is Devine II Photostream.

Friday etsy finds (on Saturday): Colourful Tuesday style

Hi again. I'm back from my mini-break which was rather wet and wild. The weather turned all stormy so the rain and hail kept us indoor for most of the time.
Since I missed colourful Tuesday I thought I'd incorporate some bright colours into Friday's post. Nina in vorm is a Dutch artist who loves ceramics, screen printing and happy, bright colours!

Free as a... freelancer

So the big news is that I have resigned from my position as a senior designer at Ladelle where I have been working for the past 3 years. The main reason is that I want to get more into the fashion & footwear area and thought it would be a good idea to be available for temping and freelance work.
Today was my first day of freedom and I spent it behind my desk updating my portfolio and resume. I think it's looking quite good so far but I want to add more in the near future. Have a look here and tell me what you think :)
Tomorrow nerd boyfriend and I are going down the coast to Inverloch for a 2 day mini break. I'm taking my camera and sketchbook. Nerd boyfriend is taking his camera and the sports section.
